Banana Nut Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped pecan
  • 1 cup mashed banana

Directions

  1. Cream shortening and sugar.
  2. Add baking soda to buttermilk.
  3. Add buttermilk mixture to sugar mixture.
  4. Add eggs, flour, salt and vanilla.
  5. Stir in nuts and bananas last.
  6. Bake in greased loaf pans or muffin tins at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately 60 minutes.
